texts are prepared, with the parallel modern Armenian translation.
Patristic works
that have already been published are
translated into modern Armenian,
together with analysis and
introduction to highlight the
rich spiritual treasures of the
Armenian Church.
For instance, Armenian religious
culture is studied jointly with
scholars of art, artists, architects and
musicologists. The purpose of such
studies is to recover the authentic
characteristics and canons
of Armenian religious architecture,
music, miniature paintings, frescos,
khatchkars (cross-stones), and
liturgical vestments and objects.
Recently, one of these joint studies
was applied on the reconstruction of
the complex of the Monastery of Aghjots.
The Center carries out various activities
for the propagation of Armenian Christian
faith. Lectures, seminars, talks, study groups,
discussions are organized regularly, as a
means of making the scholars of the Center
available to the immediate and direct
spiritual needs of the people and as
a basis of praxis of our ongoing research.
All the research at the Center is
enhanced by modern
computer technology.
